Action Typology

This notice supports operations aimed at registering industrial property rights in the form of registering patents, utility models, designs or models through national, European and international channels.

Operations that fall within the individual application submission modality within the scope of the operation type Protection of intellectual and industrial property are eligible for support, and support must be directed to the following requests for protection:

a) National definitive application for patent, utility model and design, presented at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI);

b) Application for patent, utility model and design presented abroad directly to the respective national administrations, whether or not claiming Portuguese priority;

c) European patent application filed with the INPI (regardless of whether it claims priority over a Portuguese application) or the European Patent Organization, as long as it claims priority over a patent or utility model application

Portuguese;

d) International patent application (PCT) filed with the INPI (regardless of whether it claims priority over a Portuguese application) or the European Patent Organization and/or the World Intellectual Property Organization, as long as it claims priority over a patent application or model of Portuguese utility;

e) Community application for a design or model presented at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

The initial phase of international applications will only be financed when the national/regional phases are completed in the same application.

 

Application Period

The application period starts on 03/28/2024 and ends on 12/30/2024, with the analysis and decision being made according to the following phases:

• Phase 1: 06/27/2024 (6 pm) – for all applications, with or without registration of the aid request through Notice no. 01/RPA/2022.

• Phase 2: 09/30/2024 (6 pm) – for all applications.

• Phase 3: 12/30/2024 (6 pm) – for all applications.
