MSCA and Citizens aims to connect research and researchers with the general public to raise awareness and recognition of science and research education. It highlights the societal and economic roles of researchers and their impact on daily life, while encouraging young people to pursue scientific careers. The initiative targets a broad audience, especially families, students, and those less engaged in STEAM fields, promoting inclusiveness and gender balance in science.
The goals will be achieved through the European Researchers’ Night and the Researchers at Schools initiative in 2026 and 2027. The European Researchers’ Night is a major event in the EU, attracting over 1.5 million people annually. The Researchers at Schools initiative brings researchers into educational settings to interact with students, discussing societal challenges and the importance of research, aligning with EU priorities.
