The FCT Mobility program is intended to support the international mobility of researchers. The program will finance medium and long-term stays for national PhD researchers in foreign institutions and for foreign PhD researchers in national institutions, with a view to carrying out research activities and/or fieldwork.
This program is an important contribution to promoting and strengthening the internationalization of the national scientific and technological system, which increasingly depends on its international attractiveness and its active participation in international collaborative networks. It is expected that at least 185 mobilities will be supported, within the scope of this program, to be hired by March 31, 2026.
The program has two modalities: FCT Mobility outgoing (which supports the stay of national researchers in foreign institutions) and FCT Mobility incoming (aimed at welcoming researchers affiliated with foreign institutions to Portugal, to carry out activities joint scientific research).
