ChatGPT: Let’s talk more about this conversation robot?

ChatGPT is an OpenAI conversation assistant, a virtual robot with an incredible ability to generate texts (conversations, reviews, essays and even “didactic and academic works”), with very well-written, cohesive and convincing texts. On the other hand, it is also capable of generating much controversy and discussion, as the validity of the texts produced is questioned, and the risks of their misuse.

The Center for Artificial Intelligence at USP (C4AI) has been conducting a series of debates and discussions on this topic, which is so relevant, and which needs a better understanding and knowledge on the part of academia (teachers and students), by professionals in general , but also by the lay public. We need to “understand” what ChatGPT says and produces, and we need to “understand” that this tool is a machine (without conscience, without feelings, and that it has no will of its own). We need to know when and how to use ChatGPT.
