Relational Lab: Construir Relações para o Bem-Estar Organizacional e Comunitário

Summary: The talk will present the work of Relational Lab, an organization dedicated to promoting the quality of human relationships, recognizing their importance for individual, organizational and community well-being. Under the coordination of Rui Marques, Relational Lab develops initiatives aimed at empowering people and institutions to build healthy bonds. Its areas of activity include:

• Relational Health: improving interactions in health services.
• Relational Education: valuing relationships in the learning process.
• Relational City: thinking of the city as a space for meaningful coexistence.
• Relational State: training public servants to offer better services to society.

Among the tools used are practical workshops, psychological support and consultancy programs for relational development. With a mission focused on mobilizing and empowering individuals, organizations and communities, Relational Lab promotes more constructive relationships and healthier environments.

Speaker: Rui Marques is a doctor, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (1989), with a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Cultural Industries from the Portuguese Catholic University (2004) and a doctorate in Economic and Organizational Sociology from ISEG (2017). He began his career in the media, holding positions as Program Director at Rádio Renascença, Canal 1 and RFM, as well as Deputy Director at TVI. In 1991, he founded the magazine Forum Estudante and promoted initiatives such as the “Peace Mission in Timor”. In 2002, he was appointed Deputy High Commissioner for Immigration and Ethnic Minorities, and in 2005, High Commissioner for Immigration, leading the launch of the National Immigrant Support Center and the restructuring of the Escolhas Program, aimed at the social inclusion of vulnerable young people. Since 2010, he has coordinated the Ubuntu Leaders Academy, a global youth leadership training program that has already trained participants from 190 countries. He is also the founder and coordinator of Relational Lab.
