CIRCULAR BIO-BASED EUROPE

ANI, in partnership with A4F, S.A – Algae for Future, is organizing an information session dedicated to funding opportunities within the scope of the 2023 Call for Partnership “Circular Bio-based Europe” (CBE JU). This event will take place on the 11th of May, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, at the ALGATEC Eco-Business Park, in Póvoa de Santa Iria.

The Joint Undertaking for a Biologically Based Circular Europe (CBE JU) is an institutionalized Horizon Europe (HE) partnership between the European Union and the Bio-Based Industries Consortium (BIC), which funds projects that promote bio-based industries circulars and competitors in Europe. Functions according to the rules of the HE and builds on the successes achieved by the Joint Bioindustries Company (BBI JU) of Horizon 2020 (H2020).

Between 2014 and 2020 (S2020), Portugal raised around €13 million (M€) in the 26 projects retained for funding under the BBI JU, of which 4 were coordinated by national entities – Globaz, with the BIOBRIDGES and LIFT projects; A4F, with the MULTI-STR3AM project; and AVIPE – Association of Viniculturists of the Council of Palmela, with the REDWine project.

This initiative, which includes a guided tour of ALGATEC, will feature the presence of Virginia Puzzolo, Head of Program at CBE JU, who will present the partnership and new features of the 2023 competition, the conditions for participation and evaluation, as well as guidelines on how to prepare a successful proposal. also be a panel where participants will have the opportunity to network and discuss with national actors how they should get involved and benefit from this partnership.

The session is dedicated to all types of stakeholders in biobased value chains, namely primary production and processing companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Universities and research institutes, Technology and Innovation Centers (CIT) and Collaborative Laboratories (CoLAB).
